Samira has been Head Chef at Bar & Restaurant EightyEight since June 2022 and is a previous Great British Menu contestant after competing in the 2019 and 2020 series. EightyEight is located at five-star hotel, Grantley Hall, in North Yorkshire which is also home to four other restaurants. 

The Hotel Cateys is a prestigious industry award that was established in 2007 and aims to recognise and reward those that work tirelessly to ensure their business delivers an exceptional guest experience. The winners will be announced later this year, on the night of the awards which take place in London on Monday 13th November.

For your chance to experience Bar & Restaurant EightyEight, the upcoming Sake Dinner on Thursday 19th October is a five-course paired dinner with each course introduced by Head Chef, Samira Effa, herself. The courses are perfectly paired to a variety of sakes, chosen by EightyEight’s sake enthusiasts who will discuss the sake pairings in detail regarding the different flavour profiles and history.
