Grantley Hall’s pan-Asian offering, Bar & Restaurant EightyEight has been featured in the 2022 Michelin Guide.

The Michelin Guide has shared twenty-five new additions to its Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland, ahead of the annual launch ceremony when the Michelin Stars, Bib Gourmands and Green Stars will be unveiled.

EightyEight was chosen as one of the December 2022: Michelin Inspectors' Favourite New Restaurants, along with a handful of others shortlisted from this years’ Guide.

All of the newly added restaurants will appear on both the Michelin Guide website and its associated apps, all of which are highlighted with a ‘New’ symbol for easy identification for users.

EightyEight’s Head Chef, Samira Effa, who joined the team in June 2022,said: “The team and I are ecstatic to be recognised for our hard work and passion for food. Being featured in the 2022 Michelin Guide is such a great accolade that we are all very proud of, not to mention being included as one of the Inspectors’ Favourite New Restaurants!

“We’re looking forward to 2023 to see what the New Year brings for us and will continue to keep doing what we love which is create amazing food and welcome guests – old and new – to experience what EightyEight has to offer. Huddersfield-born Samira started her career at a local restaurant whilst still at school, where she developed her love of rich flavours thanks to her Iranian mother and Nigerian father. Since then, she has gained a wealth of experience all over the country in various Michelin star restaurants including21212 in Edinburgh, Alimentum in Cambridge and Bohemia in Jersey. Samira has also worked as a Senior Production Chef for TRUEfoods, which helps to develop premium products for the restaurant industry.

Recognised for her culinary talents, Samira was asked to compete in the2019 and 2020 series of Great British Menu, where she showcased great Yorkshire produce, her love of diverse cooking techniques and favourite flavours which come from her mixed parentage.
